Not many people know that when the All & Everything Conference met in Toronto in late April of this year, I attended the sessions and wrote up the events in detail for a Cambridge-based website. (See elsewhere on this screen for the text of that review and extensive commentary.)
Ian MacFarlane, the organizer of the Conference, who was born in Niagara Falls, Ont., but who lives in England, asked me if I would be willing to speak at the banquet, Saturday evening, April 25, 2009. I agreed with alacrity. Apparently this invitation marked the first occasion in the Conference’s fourteen-year history that there was a banquet speaker!
I spoke animatedly, without notes, on sites in Ontario that are concerned with “consciousness studies,” a subject calculated to be of interest to the fifty or so members of the Conference.
